Smart Soft Classroom Setup

Computers

One PC per student, plus one instructor PC. All PC's setup as follows:

• 512 MB RAM (preferred)
• CD ROM Drive (Our courseware and setup software is on CD)
• All hard drives to be reformatted or re-Ghosted prior to class (preferred)
• OS: Windows 2000 or XP
• TCP/IP installed (Only TCP/IP)
• All PC's should be networked together and able to ping each other and the instructor

Application Software - Download and Setup

All other software will be installed in class from the student CD-ROMs.

Miscellaneous

• Two 4 x 8 White board
• One over head projector screen
• Important: White boards must be distinct from projector screen. Both are used simultaneously. Using the projector screen must not block the white board.
• Students must have administrative rights to local PC.
• Students will be working on their PC and viewing the overhead screen simultaneously, so PC's should face the screen and white boards.
• Ability for instructor to use laptop as the presentation machine and have it hooked into the network.
• At least one computer with a Server OS (like win2k server) for student file sharing.
