Training Success Factors

Based on our experience doing developer workshops, here are a few success factors, i.e. things that increase the likelihood of a successful training experience - particularly with our interactive workshop format.

Skill Matching

Students need to be skill matched, dividing advanced students and beginner students into different groups.

Classroom PC's

PC's should be as identical as possible and up to the stated hardware requirements. PC's should be freshly imaged with *exactly* the same setup. Use PC's (not laptops).

100% attendance and on-time

Due to the interactive nature of our workshops, it's best if each student attends the entire workshop.

Classroom Setup

Be sure to meet all of the requirements in the classroom setup instructions. Particularly the white board requirements.

Topic Prioritization

For custom workshops, let the instructor know which topics are most important to you. We pace the workshop based on the student's level, not based on a commitment to finish every bullet point on the outline. So, for each topic, indicate preferences for priority (A,B or C) and depth (big-picture overview versus in-depth, hands-on).
